AssuntaFoxGallery.com | Assunta Fox Publishing
Assunta Fox Gallery is an art exhibit space developed in 2003 by the
artist as a promotional cooperative in which she and other artists
can exhibit their work. Susan's work can also be viewed at the
Rourke Studio Gallery in Laguna Beach, NY Upper Crust Restaurants in
Irvine, Marina Hills, El Toro, Foot Hill Ranch and at the Huntington
Beach Visitors Center.
The Gallery name is formulated by
transforming the Italian translation of the artist’s name. Assunta
is the Italian word for Susan while Volpe’ is the Italian
translation of the word Fox. The gallery is named in loving memory
of the artist’s Aunt. |

Former New York Artist - Graduate Parsons School of Design. Susan earned a MS in Arts Administration
while focusing on Fabric Design and Education. Inspiration for her
early floral designs is artist Gustov Klimpt and fabric designer
Charles Renee’ Macontosh. Her art can always be viewed as pure process since a layering of
techniques and applications have dominated although the
medium, culminating result and product has changed.
In the summer of 2003, Susan enjoyed an art residency on the island
of Skolpolos, Greece. She studied print making, applied a
dominance of color to create beautiful silk screens, mono-prints and
paintings based on photographs she took of the island.
In
December 2006 she traveled to Italy. The work during this period is
based on this trip and a stop in her home town. The transformation
of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY to a new artist and gallery hot spot
was the end of this trip. Her current technique is in Mixed Media,
a culmination of process oriented original paintings.
"I enjoy working with water-based transparent and opaque paints and
inks. My early work in painting was conceived through an observation of nature and
design. My garden empowers me to paint. I see flowers which grace my
path each day and feel they are familiar friends. I embrace their beauty
and record their place on this earth. I have always felt that to invent
from what I see is far more interesting than to just paint what is
actually there."
"The Assunta Fox Gallery is my studio and loft space where showcase my
art. I share my walls with other California artists
and have developed a promotional cooperative in which other artists
can exhibit their work."
Assunta Fox Gallery participates in first Saturday Art Walk in Santa
Ana. Our resident and guest artists display work at this location
and at other venues contracted by Assunta Fox. The
galleries will showcase both fine and functional art handcrafted and
designed by national and international artisans. Fine Art
for sale includes, paintings, giclee' prints, mosaics, three
dimensional work and photography. Functional Art items
in our couture collection include, jewelry, shoes, hats and apparel.
Services and Representation for artists include guest artist and
resident exhibit opportunities. Marketing, consulting and
promotion. Photographic capture from original art work, color
correction and giclee' printing services. Graphic arts and
promotional material design.
"As a curator I have worked with a variety of emerging and
mid-career artists. I welcome new entries and new
opportunities. My dedication is to develop working relationships between the
artist and their public."
