Artist Statement: Derek Simon is currently a 20-year-old sophomore at New York University, majoring in Film and Television Production. From ages 12-17, he worked on commission producing cartoons to accompany articles for the Kidsday section of Newsday, a long island paper. Hes been trying to find some purpose or use for the increasingly large collections of bizarre cartoons which hes been amassing for the past two years, and if anyone has any ideas, please, let him know.
