Artist Statement:

My paintings exude a love of representation via a colorful, fluid palette. I infuse the canvas with loose and expressive brushwork. My style can be best described as “painterly representation” and is strongly influenced by the colors seen in early modern post-impressionists such as Matisse and Bonnard. I use my own digital photography as source material. I prefer ordinary, typical street scenes which I then use to work out a composition on canvas, picking and choosing the elements that interest me most.
