Artist Statement:

A native Nevadan artist, Nicole Michelle brings a unique approach to the medium of oil and canvas by blending abstract, impressionistic, and contemporary genres to produce a style that is truly her own. Nicole's work personifies a sense of the human spirit, love, and tremendous emotion. An avid drawer and painter since her youth, Nicole has consistently challenged herself by experimenting with a plethora of techniques and styles over the years in order to maintain an ever evolving artistic vision when it comes to painting. After displaying her art consistently at yearly private events hosted at Reno's Eldorado Casino, she endeavored to host her own art shows. Nicole's first show was a benefit for the Give Hope Foundation in December 2006 where she displayed several paintings and geclay prints that encompassed her work for the last 5 years. The benefit show raised $1,000 for the Give Hope Foundation which resulted from a portion of the sale!
of one acrylic and two oil paintings, as well as several limited edition prints. You can also glimpse Nicole's endeavors in art outside of painting at Ichiban's in the Harrah's Casino, Reno. There on display in the restaurant are five 6-foot copper tooled decorative wall hanging that she designed and fabricated. Nicole's latest painting, Sovereignties, Sounds, was a commissioned piece that evolved into an elegant portrayal of music and its uplifting power on ones soul. Currently, Nicole is working on other commissioned paintings as well as several personal projects at her new studio located in San Diego!
