Artist Statement:

Working in a medium such as ceramics, which has numerous processes, firings, surfaces, and scales, enables me access to a variation of colors, textures, and inspirational artist to refer to. Alternating between different firing techniques and clay bodies to create a three-dimensional object has furthered my knowledge of what I find aesthetically pleasing and visually simulating. I am largely attracted to objects I find in nature such as tree branches, acorns, milkweeds, seashells and numerous types of coral. These elements are portrayed in my artwork in the form of organic lines. Through my study of nature my art work displays free flowing configurations in multiple scales that are balanced by unique color and choices. In addition, marine life and multiple forms of coral heavily influence my ceramics and my firing techniques. Slight similarities between my ceramics and nature are demonstrated through my use of organic lines and color palette or diverse kil!

Exhibitions/Awards:: Dantes: Graduating Bachelors in Fine Arts Seniors Art Show at Dantes in Frostburg, MD. Spring 2009 Presidents Gallery: I have display my artwork in the Frostburg State Universitys Presidents Gallery. Spring 2009 Student Art Shows: I have displayed my work in the Ann Roper Gallery, located in Frostburg's Fine Arts Building during both the Spring 2007 and Fall 2008 Student Art Shows.
Saville Gallery in Cumberland, MD: Worked with the Saville Gallery, which is run by the Allegany Arts Council of Maryland I have helped hang and participated in several shows. (Spring 2007 to present) Best in Show: As a Freshman, at Frostburg State University I received an award for Best In Show in the annual Brushstroke's Learning Community art show. (Fall 2005)
